99 Things to See and Do in Dundee

With the help of people who know and love the city, we produce a crowdsourced 99 Things guide sharing the truly unmissable places in and around Dundee.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time, staying as a student, have made the city your home or are a life-long Dundonian, our latest guide offers inspiration to explore, celebrate and connect with Dundee and all of the wonderful experiences it has to offer.

Download the guide or pick up your copy from spots around the city! And when you’re out and about exploring, be sure to share all the places you’ve visited using #DundeeGuide. We’d love to hear your favourite and unmissable spots on the map!

We also have an accessible, black and white version of the 99 Things to See and Do in Dundee guide available to download.

We created the city’s first crowdsourced guide back in 2012 and the newest edition marks the sixth update – huge thanks goes to Freya Allan for the wonderful illustrations, Agency of None for the brilliant design, and UNESCO City of Design Dundee; Dundee: One City, Many Discoveries; and V&A Dundee for supporting the production of the guide.

From murals to temporary exhibitions transforming empty spaces, they offer new perspectives of the city and encourage people to stop and linger.

UNESCO City of Design Dundee

Dundee became the UK’s only UNESCO City of Design in December 2014, joining UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network of global design cities, including Cebu, Mexico City, Seoul, Kobe, Montréal, Shenzhen, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Helsinki, Bilbao and more.

The designation is a prestigious award that recognises the huge contribution the city has made to design worldwide. Like other cities we have our challenges, but the City of Design status is something which Dundee can build on to do even greater things.

The UNESCO Dundee Design House, located on Union Street, is free to hire for design related projects like workshops, pop-up shops and more. Get in touch with the UNESCO team for further information.
